Regarding the USB token(s) that you have purchased from our company for digital signature with certificates from the HERMES National Portal, we would like to inform you of the operational changes that arise in accordance with the announcement of January 5, 2022 by the Hellenic Certification Authority Public (www.aped.gov.gr).
Specifically:
- On 17/01/2022, the existing platform of the HERMES National Portal with which the USB tokens Gemalto ID Classic 340 / Gemalto-Safenet MD840 that we have supplied you are compatible will cease to function.
- On the same day, 17/01, the operation of the new platform on which the new Gemalto / Thales MD940 USB tokens will be compatible begins
- The digital certificates in the USB token you have will gradually expire until 04/30/2022 unless their expiry date is earlier
To be able to issue new digital signature certificates you must:
- Get either the new Thales MD940 USB token, or just the MD940 SIM card and replace your existing Gemalto ID Classic 340 / Gemalto-Safenet MD840 tokens SIM card
- Revisit the KEPs for identification
- Make the version based on the process required by the new platform
